For the BIRD Theatre Festival we are working hard to collect the latest information on the COVID-19 infection. We are paying close attention to preventing the spread of the disease and taking the following measures.

Countermeasures to Prevent Infectious Diseases

  • The theatre is thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and ventilated.
  • The number of seats is limited to less than 50% of the fixed seats.
  • Alcohol for disinfection is available at each location.
  • We have set up a temperature check station.
  • Places such as the reception area are equipped with a screen to prevent droplet infection.
  • All actors and staff are checked daily to make sure they are in good health.

Help us control the spread of COVID-19

The rules in place provide all visitors an enjoyable, safe, and secured theater experience.

Please wear a face mask all the time and refrain from speaking loudly. Please refrain from talking during the meal and wear a face mask when you speak.

If you are not feeling well, we would ask you not to attend.

  • The temperature check station opens at 10 am. You can purchase a ticket from 10:30 am at reception, and doors open 30 minutes before the performance. Please give yourself extra time to enjoy the show.
  • Please provide your correct name and contact information when booking your tickets. Also, please be aware that we may need to provide this information to public offices such as a health care center.
  • Please check your temperature and health condition before coming to the theater.
  • Please see our visitor policy below, which titled "Entry to the theater building may be denied for individuals who have:"
  • Please take your temperature at the temperature check station as soon as you arrive at the parking lot or theatre.
  • Please maintain physical distancing when lining up. You can purchase masks if you forget to bring one.
  • At the temperature check station, you will need to fill in a “contact form”. Please enter your information in the Tottori COVID-19 Information Register System.
  • Once your temperature has been taken and you have been confirmed as eligible to attend, please put your wristband on and purchase your ticket at reception.
  • Bird Café is open. Please enjoy the café after you wash and sanitize your hands. You remove your face mask during the meal, so please refrain from talking. After you have finished eating, please put your face mask back on and have a conversation. The more familiar you are with someone, the more likely you are to talk to them without a face mask, which increases the risk of infection, so as a rule, please make sure you wear a face mask whenever you speak.
  • Please avoid crowded and close-contact settings while waiting in the lobby. Please refrain from speaking loudly.
  • We will set a pole partition in the middle of the aisle to avoid crowding and close-contact settings and to avoid as much as possible any overlap between the lines of traffic entering and leaving the theatre. Please follow the instructions of staff when entering and exiting the theatre.
  • Once doors open, feel free to enter the theater. Please do not bring in any drinks or food. Also, please refrain from speaking loudly.
  • When you go to the bathroom before the performance starts, please make sure you follow the right direction of the aisle.
  • Once the show has started, you can only enter and exit through the theater hall’s back door, toward the lobby.
  • After the show, the staff will lead you to the exit in order to avoid crowded and close-contact settings. Please stay seated until you are instructed to exit.

Entry to the theater building may be denied for individuals who have:

  • a fever of 37.5 degrees Celsius or more;
  • symptoms such as cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fatigue, taste and smell disorders, headache, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting;
  • been in close contact with people diagnosed with COVID-19;
  • visited countries or regions where quarantine and entry restrictions are imposed by the government, or have been in close contact with people traveling or visiting from those countries and regions, in the previous 2 weeks;
  • been diagnosed with COVID-19 (including asymptomatic carriers);
  • been asked by a healthcare center to refrain from going out or monitor their health condition.
