The theatre of the grotesque and absurd by
Eugène Ionesco will be performed with
a new stage direction.
Inesco is known as one of the foremost playwrights of the theatre of the absurd. “The Lesson” is one of his earlier works, and it was first performed in 1951. Since then, it’s been performed in many countries and regions. The play has three characters: The Professor; the Pupil; and the Maid. This play satirizes indoctrination and violence of the ideas and ideology within “education”. This work won the Toga Theatre Competition Grand Prize both for the Best Director and the Best Actor. The play will be performed with a new stage direction.
