SMALL THEATER OF WAGAMACHI has garnered more and more attention both locally and nationwide as an emerging hub of contemporary theater in Okinawa. This piece “Yoroboshi” that had been created by Takeshi Fukunaga and a group of young theater artists who bring together there, won the Excellence in Direction Award at the Toga Concour 2018. In July this year, they stayed at the Bird Theatre for about a week to further elaborate the performance, which resulted in the work reflecting what they are today.
